Artist Performing In Your Area - Jah

(20100822T040113Z )

Why do artist perform in some areas & not others?

Take Jaheim for example. Fans have stated that he doesn't come to their city/state.   Why do you think this happens?  Could it be population?   Could it be the arena/theater?    Could it be past experience with low attendance?    Could it be management?

So please tell your state & what cities you know he has performed in.  On the other hand, tell your state and city that he has not performed in.  (explain why you think he should perform there.)

    Hi Nik Nik,

It all depends on the type of market your labled as, for instance Washington State no not Washington DC (the Pacific NW) has been labled as a C market. Which is WHY we spend so much money for people to come to our state. Take for example Jill Scott and Maxwell my husband and I spent well over $200.00 for our tickets to see them perform. Tyler Perry last play here was over $100 for the good seats and $50 something for the bad seats. Musiq came here I think I paid $80 or $90 to see him but when I went to St. Louis I saw him for $10.00 maybe $20.00 at the most? Various cities have different markets. People think Washington has no African Americans here when actual reality we're representing. However you will find a lot of people who are biracial such as myself, and many other nationalities. I asked Jah when was he coming to Seattle...his response was "I'm getting there" and in my head I was like Yes but our market by time he gets here he'll be promoting another album. (*_*)

Jah was in Cincinnati for the Macy's festival this summer and two years ago. He has been to Columbus (about an 1.5 drive from Cincinnati) and Cleveland (about 3.5 hrs. from Cincinnati). I think artists go where the promoters can sell tickets. Cincinnati doesn't get a lot of R&B concerts. We have lots of good venues but for some reason we don't get the concert for the grown and sexy. I don't know if it is because artists don't want to come or because we have few promoters. On the other hand we have had many popular rap/hip hop artists perform here. So maybe the market here is for that music and not R&B. Macy's festival attracts people from Indy, Columbus, Cleveland, Chicago, Detroit, Louisville and of course Cincinnati.

HE HAS NOT PERFORMED IN INDIANAPOLIS, INDIANA RECENTLY. HE PERFORMED AT THE BLACK EXPO ONE YEAR-MANY YEARS AGO. I DON'T KNOW WHY HE/BUDWEISER TOUR DOESN'T BUT I WOULD LOVE TO SEE THE HIM/BUDWEISER TOUR COME HERE.

VA: He as performed in VA Beach & Richmond (that I know of)

Many artists perform in Hampton, but I'm not sure if Jah has.

I always wondered how the city/states were chosend for shows. I'm interested in finding out the answers also.
