I just arrived home from the Dallas/Fort Worth 2010 Budweiser Superfest featuring Raheem DeVaughn, Jaheim, Kem and Anthony Hamilton. I was SO PUMPED and hyped 8 of my closest female friends to join me for a night of sexy and smooth R&B. I hope the fact that I am a member of this page and posting in this forum qualifies my following statements.
I was absolutely DISAPPOINTED in Jaheim's set. It was by far the weakest out of the four main acts. And Jah if you are reading this believe me when I say dozens of fans around me felt the same way.
Not only did you only perform 30 seconds of "Ain't Leaving Without You" as your closing act, you pretty much left it up to the audience to sing. Then the only other track you sung from your NEW CD, "Another Round", was "In My Hands". Huh? No, "Whoa" or "Finding My Way Back?" What was going on tonight?
You sang more of Teddy Pendergrass' songs than your own. I respect the contribution of Teddy but now is your time to leave your legacy on the next generation! I don't know who your Road Manager or Promoters are but they are doing you a disservice. You are far too talented to half-ass a performance.
"Another Round" is one of you best CDs and YOU didn't even promote it during your performance. Then after your set you wanted to charge $30 for a photo with you. I would have quickly paid double that had I not been left rendered still and dismayed by your lackluster performance.
I have seen you in concert before and I know this was not the norm for you. What happened tonight? Missing band members? Not feeling great? Please offer something because we just cannot believe you did not sing hits from your latest CD! You didn't even stay on stage long enough to give out all of your roses!
And before anyone decides to reply to my post and personally attack me for sharing my experience know that I am not even going to respond because nothing you could say to challenge my statements would be justified if you saw the show I just saw.
So disappointed Jah.
